Alby--Turn around time depends on the money you want to spend. You can UPS/FedEx it there, so a day or two; can pay for quick turn around, so another day or two; can have them UPS/Fed Ex it back, so another day or two. Plus they have on-line tracking. But sending it out on Monday and hoping to have it back Friday is a stretch; could happen if everything goes right. If you have two weeks back home (or longer) it's easy. And the slower you can go, the cheaper the service.

For those of you trying to get PRC entry visas, it would help if you would please note your passport country when reporting updates.
Still seems like the rules depend not only on the mood of the issuer, but also the country on the passport. Perhaps even the country in which you are applying.
