For example does anyone now whether the Microchips used in UK are compatible with the microchip readers used in Hong Kong. My other concern is getting the cat from the Airport Cargo Area to our appartment in Hong Kong. I am trying to aviod public transport (trains/buses/taxis) because the cat is the worst traveller you could imagine and I wouldn't want to wish that on any member of public. So I am trying to find a pet carrier company or individual who would drive my cat and family from the airport. Any advice or experiences would be gratefully appreciated. |
Your cat should have an AVID brand microchip, or it will get another one on arrival. Try contacting Export-a-pet or Ferndale Kennels and Cattery to pick your cat up from the airport. Contact details for both can be found in other pets threads here. The process is really pretty straightforward, but it is worth having an agency pick the cat up on the HK end, take it through customs and deliver it to your apartment - the fees aren't too bad.
