Did you ever find a good design place? Lots of them on Ma Tau Wai Road and they are all there it seems until late nights. Not surprising to find some still there at 11 pm on Saturday nights when I walk from the bus.

I will be moving into the Grand Waterfront this week sometime (waiting on a bed) with the rest already furnished by the landlord.

One thing I'd not do is buy there. It will be interesting to see if my prediction is correct or not though. Lots of places there for rent it seems and it has one huge advantage - it is new and clean.

Why I'd not buy there is the grandiose size and space devoted to the community facilities. Right now the gymn is $25 per visit which is not bad given there are times you don't get there every day so averaging a monthly fee over 30 days is not always realistic. Bowling is also IIRC around $35 - 45 depending on time you use it. The theatre where you just stand on the pad outside and the door opens is awesome and on and on.

My point. If these are the charges now, what will they have to rise to to cover costs not to mention security galore when the developer is long gone? I think big prices.

Our landlord, a civil engineer has a unique design for the one bedroom with the shelf by the window that just wastes space. He put in a single bed with drawers and then used rubber shower floor mats (that are about 2 inches thick) to make it level with the bed and he has then added a double bed mattress!! Not so good if you can't sleep close to the window.

Any other geoexpats in the Grand Waterfront?
